Romantic Suspense
In 1922 a farmer in Adamant, Arkansas, awakes to a
noise on his roof and finds his snow-blanketed yard
marked with thousands of cloven footprints. The prints
vanish with the melting snow..only to reappear seventy
years later near the gruesome killing of Rachel DeLaune.
Years after her sister's unsolved murder, New Orleans
tattoo artist Sarah DeLaune is haunted by the mysteries
of her past. Sarah always believed her sister was killed
by a boy named Ashe Cain, only no one else had ever seen
Ashe but her. He "appeared" to her when she needed a
friend the most and then disappeared after her sister's
murder. Now that two mutilated bodies are found near
Sarah's home, the past begins to bleed into the present
as the crime scenes are desecrated by cloven footprints.
THE DEVIL'S FOOTPRINTS takes you close to the murdered
victims. Sarah's ex-lover Sean is a homicide detective
in New Orleans. When the victims turn up with new
tattoos on their bodies, he consults with Sarah on who
may be the artist behind the deaths. But he also has an
ulterior motive. He still loves Sarah and wants to
explain why he left her so suddenly, married someone
else, but now wants her back. Sarah doesn't have time
for Sean because she is fighting her own demons of the
past. She has never gotten over the bad treatment from
her father during her childhood, or the murder of her
sister. As clues come up in the current murders, Sarah
is taken further and further back into her own past. She
holds the key to these murders, as well as the past. But
will she retrieve the answer in time? Can she save
herself?? And what will happen with Sean afterwards, she
loves him still, he is the only man for her and she
knows it. But, she cannot give herself to him until she
can shake this demon from her life.
THE DEVIL'S FOOTPRINTS will leave you shivering in fear.
