Luanne Rice takes readers on a lyrical journey in
LIGHT OF THE MOON. Susannah Connolly travels to French
Camargue to fulfill her dying mother’s wish, and she
arrives to find herself in a magical journey of love and
forgiveness. Grey Dempsey, an American-born journalist
turned rancher, spends his time operating his ranch and
tending his troubled daughter, Sari. Tortured by the
memory of her mother’s act of abandonment and haunted by
her sudden fear of horse riding, Sari depends on Grey
for everything, and Susannah’s arrival puts her off
balance. All three—Susannah, Grey, and Sari—have sorrows
that must be healed before they can move on to a new
life, but so much of the healing is involved around
Sarah, the patron Saint of the Camargue, and the
unavailable Maria, Grey’s former wife and Sari’s mother.
Beautifully written and with fully developed characters,
LIGHT OF THE MOON is a moving novel of pain and healing.
Readers will appreciate the depth and complexity of this
moving tale, and the characters are crafted in such a
way that the reader will truly care what happens to
them. The bittersweet tone of the novel is sure to
please, and the ending is greatly satisfying. The novel
has a surreal feeling that leaves the reader feeling as
though they are also in the dreamy setting where so much
of the novel takes place. LIGHT OF THE MOON is a
beautiful tale, and Ms. Rice has crafted a novel sure to
please.
