Cass's
deal with Maximos was for sex only and Maximos made it clear
that he
could give her nothing more. Sex, just mind-blowing sex that
always seemed
like they were making love. Cass craved Maximos, wanted him every
moment
of the day, loved him desperately, and after two years of just
nights and
weekends, two years of being a mistress, she dared to want...to
ask for
more. In reply, Maximos walked out...it's been six months, and
Cass has to
have closure, and what better way to get that than appearing at
Maximos's
sister's wedding with his most bitter enemy. After seeing Maximos
and
making love with him again, Cass still can't understand why he
doesn't want all she can give him. Then he wants her to stay
the weekend
to talk and confront what's kept them apart...but the truth just
might
destroy any chance at a future together.
THE SICILIAN'S DEFIANT MISTRESS is Jane Porter at her best. The
emotion is
intense, almost unbearable at times, as is the sexual chemistry
and
tension between Cass and Maximos. It's also a page-turner as the
reader
hopes to find out just what keeps Maximos from giving Cass his
love and
accepting Cass's love in return--the answer's explosive and worth
waiting for. THE SICILIAN'S DEFIANT MISTRESS will especially wow long-time
Presents fans and remind them of the writing of another Presents
favorite,
Anne Mather. What I especially liked was that Maximos is a flawed
hero, a
hero who's not completely white-washed and perfect, but is a hero
who has
his flaws and made mistakes and suffered for them. Highly
recommended!
