Step into a world of magic and mystery in Natasha
Mostert’s latest novel, SEASON OF THE WITCH. Gabriel
Blackstone, information thief, leads a comfortable
existence; he charges top dollar for top secret
information and enjoys the benefits of his lucrative
business. When a promising new job turns about to be a
referral from a former lover, Gabriel discovers that
William Whittington wants Gabriel to tap into more than
just information…Robert Whittington is missing, and
Gabriel has just the right gifts to locate Whittington’s
son. All the clues seem to suggest that a pair of
beautiful and mystifying sisters, Minnaloushe and
Morrighan Monk, can provide much more than insight into
Robbie’s disappearance. The Monk sisters are
intellectuals, mystics, and sensualists, and Gabriel
struggles to remain focused on his ultimate goal as he
comes to spend more and more time with the pair. Foul
play appears to have resulted in Robbie’s disappearance,
and Gabriel must find the truth or die trying. To add to
Gabriel’s struggle is his emotional attachment to the
anonymous writer of an evocative dairy; he knows one of
the sisters is the author, but he cannot determine which
one is its creator.
In SEASON OF THE WITCH, Ms. Mostert has expertly crafted
an intriguing, disturbing, and emotional tale. Gabriel
is a complex and charismatic character haunted by the
choices he has made in the past. Each of the Monk
sisters is also highly unique among literary characters.
Gabriel’s obsession with Minnaloushe and Morrighan
spirals further and further out of control as SEASON OF
THE WITCH progresses, and his desperate feelings of both
love and fear towards the two sisters is palpable.
SEASON OF THE WITCH blends spirituality, magic, and
mystery in a novel that will undoubtedly please readers.
