Lady Isabel Louvet is a
beauty of noble birth, with courage and wit. However when she
is abducted on the night she was to choose a groom by Scottish
Brigands none of that matters. As Isabel and the man she
planned to pick are taken to a Scottish Chieftain to be a
slave or worse, Isabel knows she has to keep her wits in order
to escape without knowing if any of her family survived the
attack.
While Lady Isabel struggles
with recent events, a hero races to save her, Anvrai
d’Arques. Anvrai is not a man to inspire looks of lust, but
his heart is pure in his devotion to his king and country and
his power on the battlefield is legendary. Now he faces his
greatest challenge, Lady Isabel Louvet. Isabel’s beauty and
strength spark feelings in Anvrai he knows won’t be
returned.
With the help of Isabel,
they struggle to flee the Scottish. With war on the horizon
Isabel and Anvrai know they must save themselves and help
their countrymen while at the same time fight the desire they
both feel. Can they find a love to last a lifetime?
This is all I feel
comfortable telling about THE BRIDE HUNT without giving away
things I feel the reader is better left to find out on their
own. THE BRIDE HUNT, set in 1072, is sure to please fans of
tortured heroes with hearts of gold, and strong women willing
to stand up for themselves. Both Isabel and Anvrai are
characters with depth and appeal that I couldn’t help but
cheer on. The storyline is one that is both classic and fresh,
as Isabel and Anvrai deal with each other and their situation.
There are even a few fun moments thrown in. I
do hope this is only the beginning for these characters. THE
BRIDE HUNT is a medieval romance I would highly recommend to
all fans of this era and look forward to finding more of Ms.
Maguire’s work.
