have established a Foundling House. When a guardian
dies, the Foundling picks up the orphan. The home feeds
them and takes care of their needs, they also train them
in a trade and now, someone is kidnapping the young
boys. Penelope has to discover who it is, and why they
are taking them. She needs someone with experience in
investigating, her most logical choice is Barnaby.
Penelope is use to giving orders, but can she stand by
and let Barnaby take charge of the case? Or, can the two
find the missing boys, before it is too late?
Barnaby Adair has made a name for himself, investigating
crimes involving the Ton. When Penelope walks in asking
for his help, Barnaby is immediately fascinated with
her. It had been two years since he saw her last. She
has grown up some and Barnaby is finding her very
distracting. Penelope has offered him something no other
young lady has offered, a case. Barnaby enlist the help
of his friend, Inspector Basil Stokes. Barnaby's only
problem, keeping Penelope safe and out of harm's way.
Working side by side with her, his attraction to her
grows stronger. How can he lead her to where he wants
her most, in his bed, and as his wife.
WHERE THE HEART LEADS is an intriguing historical
romance, with a mystery about London's notorious East
End. The story grips you from page one, and doesn't let
go until the final page. Stephanie Laurens gives us
strong lead characters to love. The heat between Barnaby
and Penelope makes this a very sensual story. Secondary
characters, and a small glimpse of some of the Cynster
clan, makes this one book you don't want to miss. This
one goes on my keeper shelf. WHERE THE HEART LEADS is
Ms. Laurens at her best.
