Cecelia has it all: a successful career as a
cardiologist, a handsome and successful fiancé, and a
wonderful apartment. At Cecelia’s engagement party, her
sister Amy stuns the stuffy crowd by admitting to her
gypsy heritage. Amy has an amazing psychic gift; she has
the power to name the One True Love of the individuals
she comes into contact with. Amy turns Cecelia’s world
upside down when she adamantly declares that Cecelia’s
One True Love is dying, and that Cecelia must take the
chance to find him before he is gone forever.
Finn Concord, the widowed father of an extremely cute
eight year old, thinks the rent-a-granny his daughter
wants to meet is too good to be true. Upon arrival in
Baltimore, Finn finds himself trusting the hardened old
woman who offers to be a surrogate grandmother. Coerced
into playing for Trudy’s baseball team, Finn is taken
aback when Cecelia covertly hides a letter warning him
of his potential death. Finn and Cecelia are immediately
attracted, but Cecelia is determined to keep her highly
organized life precisely the way it has been.
Humorous and entertaining, MAKE ME A MATCH is an
enjoyable debut novel. The whimsical nature of the tale
leaves hints of future novels, hopefully involving the
wacky Amy and the mysterious Jasmine. Ms. Holquist does
a great job showing the great leaps people will take for
love.
