Historical Romance
Honora Tannach has survived an abusive stepfather by
her wits and determination. When she finds that he has
arranged her marriage to the future Laird of the clan
Sinclare, she is overwhelmed with relief. Finally, she
will be free of his abusive reign. And her future
husband appears kind and honorable, so life will be much
less complicated.
But when Cavan Sinclare, the eldest son long believed
dead in a horrific battle, arrives home, Honora’s
stepfather insists that Honora weds Cavan. After all,
with Cavan alive, he will be Laird. And in one fell
blow, Honora’s stepfather once again destroys all
thoughts of happiness. For Cavan is embittered and
scarred from his long torturous capture, and he will not
abandon his personal demons. Cavan is determined to find
his youngest brother who was also enslaved by the same
barbarians. Cavan cannot allow love and peace into his
life while his brother suffers an unknown fate!
But Honora is more than a timid woman, and her appeal
grows in intensity as her courage blooms. Soon, Cavan
may realize that he has met his match in Honora. And
perhaps one day, he will allow himself to cherish and
love his wife, and take the first step towards
eradicating his consuming guilt.
This was fabulous! Cavan was both honorable and scary,
as an embittered warrior should be. Honora could have
had a few more problems with overcoming her years of
abuse, but she was still a wonderful character. The
story was intriguing and realistic and a joy to read!
