Sinclair Duval lives a simple life taking care of her
niece because she has a sister that is not a reliable
parent. Forever filling in the void of a missing mother,
Sinclair and her niece Nahla Duval are having fun at
Jungle Kingdom, an indoor fun house for children. Itʼs a
typical outing and fun is the only thing on the agenda
when something goes wrong. The events that happen after
that are a blur to Sinclair because they have been
involved in an accident that should have left Sinclair
paralyzed and Nahla dead. But to every doctorʼs surprise
Sinclair can walk and the dying child makes a miraculous
recovery it seems after coming into contact with an
animal in the hospital. Not understanding what is
happening Sinclair finds her self trusting a guy by the
name of Rio who claims to be a physicianʼs assistant and
a healer. All she knows is that he has some how managed
to heal her body and has the herbs to heal Nahla.
Knowing nothing else about Rio, she follows him to his
place where he continues to help the one most important
person in her life.
Rio is a were-cheetah and is the healer of the
Martinelli clan. Heʼs sorry for the accident that
happened at the playground owned by the Martinelliʼs, so
he is intent on saving Sinclair and Nahla. He is helping
though has now placed both of them in jeopardy with
their rival clan, the Charlotte Coalition. Although
Sinclair is healing quickly Nahla needs more medical
attention and he needs Sinclair to trust him to complete
what he has started. Attraction to Sinclair seems to be
getting in Rioʼs way, so when the opportunity presents
itself he takes from her what she is more than willing
to give. Itʼs been a while but Rioʼs touch has her body
singing a familiar tune. Before they can really build on
their relationship Sinclair finds out from the head of
the Charlotte Coalition that Rio is not who she thinks
he is and that he might be out to cause her and Nahla
more harm than good. Not sure who she can believe or
trust, she has to decide what is best for her and Nahla.
One thing she knows for sure is that she feels something
for Rio but is it lust or love.
In UNSTABLE ENVIRONMENT, Ms. Colette has managed to
merge the human world and the were-cheetah world
together through adventure, love, and a child.
Sinclairʼs possessiveness and love of her niece will
take you into a place you can only dream about. Nothing
in the story is predictable and forces you to keep
turning the pages to see how everything will unfold.
