Isabelle Novak is a water witch. She never stays in
one place too long and has a good case of wanderlust.
But after the tragic death of her sister, she is out for
revenge and that means a certain warlock may be dead
before the night is through! Isabelle has cultivated a
relationship with Stefan Faucheux, and now she only
wants to get alone with him long enough to make him pay.
Using a good case of lust, she finally succeeds in
getting rid of Stefan's bodyguard, only to be stopped in
her tracks by the Coven leader Thomas Monahan. He
manages to prevent the premature death of Stefan by
Isabelle's magic and recruits Isabelle to help search
for the demon who actually killed her sister.
Thomas Monahan is a straight laced as they come. He
leads with a firm, yet honorable hand. He wants to find
the demon that was released into his world, but in order
to do that, he will need the help of the warlock Stefan.
With Isabelle's strengths as a water witch, he feels
that they will finally get rid of the demon, that is if
they all survive. Isabelle knows that Stefan is as much
to blame as the demon, but she agrees to help anyway.
Thomas is an earth witch, so when he felt the pull of
Isabelle, he just assumed it was the elemental pull. But
the attraction didn't lessen and now not only is he
drawn to Isabelle, he is becoming overbearing and bossy.
The passion between the two is blistering, and Isabelle
could use a diversion. What she doesn't need is feelings
for a man, especially if she plans to leave when all is
said and done.
WITCH BLOOD is the second book in the elemental witch
series. As usual, Ms. Bast delivers another
heart-stopping and first-rate paranormal romance. Her
characters jump off the page and draw you in. I love the
way Ms. Bast delicately balances edginess and erotica.
Personally, I can't wait until her next installment.
