Raphael Ramirez is an ex-wolven agent of the Sazi and
has just been assigned to assist Catherine Turner in her
first change. She just happens to be the latest victim
of Raphael's enemy, a serial killer named Jack Simpson.
Jack attacked and killed Catherine's parents in order to
obtain access to Catherine and turn her into a
were-jaguar. Unfortunately, the first change for someone
not born a shape-shifter often ends in death. Raphael
knows this from personal experience.
Catherine has suffered a great loss and now she is
hearing voices. She thinks she may be crazy, but that
would be too easy! She successfully changes before
Raphael can get to her and sets in motion the beginning
of a new life. Many times those who have been bitten by
Sazi will obtain part of their maker's gifts and
Catherine seems to be powerful. Raphael has been charged
with providing the Sazi training for Cat and this causes
problems within the Boulder wolf community, especially
since cats and wolves are natural enemies. Jealousy and
hatred are running rampant and it is up to Raphael's,
new pack Alpha, to get things in order.
Cat and Raphael find themselves in the fight of their
lives in this latest installment from Adams and Clamp.
The reader will be intrigued from page one of HOWLING
MOON.
Other books in this series include HUNTER'S MOON, MOON'S
WEB, and CAPTIVE MOON. Adams and Clamp have created a
new world with their stories of the Sazi shape-shifters
that is exciting and fun to read.
