Jeffrey Hamilton has always dreamed of making a difference in people’s lives. When he graduates from college, his love for math and science lands him his dream job in the space program. He accepts the position before he has talked to his high school sweetheart about his move from Philadelphia to Houston. After being separated for eleven years, he’s not sure if he can win her trust again when he returns to continue his life in Philadelphia.

Sheila Miller tried to continue her life once Jeffrey left, but none of her achievements replaced the feelings she once had for Jeffrey. When she finds out that he plans to move back to Philadelphia, she tries to keep her distance from him so that he isn’t allowed to break her heart again. But as chance would have it, they seem to be thrown together at various times. Each one is afraid to take the steps necessary to begin a new relationship.

This is an enjoyable story about two people that let their personal goals interrupt the love they once shared when Jeffrey is offered the job of his dreams. It talks of a love that started out young, but was not acted upon until both people were mature enough to make rational decisions about what it means to love one another. Jeffrey is finally ready to give up everything for love, but Sheila is afraid to trust her heart to him. The two of them work hard to gain the trust and love of each other as it draws closer to Christmas.
