| TWILIGHT falls within a number
of sub-genres, so it is hard to classify it for readers, but I
can guarantee that fans of romantic suspense, courtroom dramas,
and puzzling murders will not be disappointed.
Judge Simone Thompson has made a name for
herself as an up and coming family court judge.
However with her fame brings the possibility of danger, a
cunning killer, Narcissus, has targeted Simone as one potential
victim. Hoping to
escape the limelight for a short time, Simone heads to the lush
Brazilian tropics for her friend’s wedding to a prominent
filmmaker, Norris Haynes. Norris
also happens to be on the killer’s list.
It is in Brazil that Simone meets another
target, famous actor D. Anthony “Sonny” Whittaker, who is
there with his twin daughters.
When the killer fails a murder attempt on a famous
actress, Simone and Sonny find themselves spending time
together. Soon
Simone realizes she is falling hard for this man, a man to whom
she cannot become attached.
Simone is slated to preside over Sonny’s bitter custody
battle.
Hoping to leave her feelings behind, Simone
vows to oversee this trial.
Soon, she finds her life torn apart by a potential
scandal, the quest for her biological father, Narcissus’s
stalking, and her growing desire for Sonny.
She is forced to face her past, present and future as
they all merge in this powerful, sometimes poignant, story.
Packed with edge of your seat suspense,
emotionally heated courtroom battles, fiery romance, Hollywood
life and vibrant characters, TWILIGHT is definitely not to be
missed. Though I
had to get used to the shorter chapter lengths, I was rapidly
able to adjust to the story’s flow, and by the 8th
chapter, I was unable to put the story down for any reason.
With a few secondary plotlines keeping you
riveted to the pages, there are plenty of reasons to love
TWILIGHT. Your best
bet is to find a copy soon and indulge in a fantastic summer
read. |
