Lady Amicia MacLean can’t believe that the man  she’s secretly loved forever really wants to marry her, even by proxy, but  that’s what she’s told. So Amicia finds herself married to Magnus MacKinnon. She  is therefore truly shocked to learn upon Magnus’s return, that not only didn’t  he know about the wedding, he wants to send her back to her family. Amicia has  one choice, she must make Magnus want her, so she can stay. She’d rather have  any part of him, than none at all.

Magnus returns from battle with  little more than the clothes on his back, but he’s determined to rebuild his  clan’s fortunes himself, without Amicia’s help. Being the proud warrior he is,  Magnus hates to even admit that his clan might need her money, or that he might  want Amicia for himself. He is determined to return her to her family. He soon  finds that hard to do, since the clan has already started to rebuild its galley  of ships with some of the funds she brought.

With this knowledge  Magnus now has to figure out how to regain the money spent, and keep away from  the one woman he’s always wanted. Amicia is more determined than ever to keep  Magnus and will do anything necessary to gain his attention. While battling each  other and their attraction, Magnus also has to deal with the clan’s belief that  an old curse is upon them. That of strange things going on that endanger members  of his family. As things heat up will either Amicia or Magnus get their heart’s  desire and is the curse indeed at work again?

WEDDING FOR A KNIGHT,  set in 1332 Scotland, has a little bit of everything; romance, passion, mystery,  and a touch of the paranormal. The hero is a man trying to save his pride and  his clan. The heroine is a strong woman who struggles with her self-image. I  really enjoyed the plot as well as the paranormal elements. The secondary  characters add a lot to the story especially Magnus’ s friend, Colin, and his two  younger brothers. An added benefit that will make many readers happy is the fact  the heroine is not a skinny woman but instead is seen as a beautiful "well-made"  lass.

This story is part of the MacLean Trilogy with MASTER OF THE HIGHLANDS (Aug  2003), and KNIGHT IN MY BED (April 2002), but does fine as a stand-alone novel.  It also is to be a tie-in to a new trilogy about the MacKinnon clan that I can’t  wait to read. With WEDDING FOR A KNIGHT Ms. Welfonder has once again given us a  story to love full of emotion and action, one you won’t put down till the  end.
