Unwittingly,
Dana Whittington shelters a convicted murderer in her cabin during
a blizzard. Dana's a children's book writer and author of a
popular series starring Mortimer Q. Morganbrood the cat and is
staying at her cousin's deserted resort as caretaker, so she can
have peace and solitude to make her latest deadline. She finds the handsome, unconscious, and half-frozen man on
her doorstep and nurses him until he's able to leave on his own,
only to have him comeback, and this time she knows who he is.
Remy Leverette is a convicted murderer who took his chance
to escape during a power outage at the prison. He wants to hunt
down evidence he knows exists but was not used at his trial to
prove his alibi for the night of his wife's murder, and to prove
his innocence so he can regain custody of his beloved
five-year-old daughter, Chantal.
As they work to prove Remy's innocence, Dana and Remy can't
deny their growing attraction, but after so much deception between
them, can they trust each other to gain a future together?
FUGITIVE
HEARTS is a suspenseful page-turner sure to please romantic
suspense fans. I
particularly enjoyed how Dana's career as a children's author
helped to solve the mystery.
Also, I consider it a plus that Dana's incapability to have
children wasn't magically remedied in an epilogue.
