| A stunning blend of romance and
history entwine within the pages of THE SCOTTISH THISTLE.
Ms. Vallar takes events and figures from Scotland’s
rich past and bring them all to life.
Though few know their mysterious
benefactor’s true identity, Rory MacGregor’s tragic past led
her to a fine life with her foster parents.
For them and their people, she will do anything, even if
it means marrying the enemy.
Duncan Cameron knows when he is asked to
marry the woman of Sir Donald Cameron of Lochiel’s choosing,
he must marry her without complaint.
A life with Rory MacGregor may not have been his
decision, but he will make the best of it, and given her zest
for life and attractive looks it cannot be too tough a task.
Knowing he wants more than just an arranged marriage,
Duncan sets out to win her love.
When Charles Stewart arrives in Scotland,
Rory’s vision of a bloody and brutal war come true.
Their newfound love must be put aside as they prepare for
a war that will culminate at Culloden.
There is no doubt that Ms. Vallar must have
spent painstaking hours on her research for this novel.
Don’t expect to be able to read this book quickly –
it just is not possible. The
rich Scottish brogue, heartfelt characters, and historically
accurate setting draw the reader into Scotland during the
1700’s. Though
this book came listed as a historical romance, I tend to think
it is more a vivid historical with romantic elements.
Nevertheless, readers will be well pleased with this
story. |
