Payton D'Angelo
is back in Italy after a two year absence and about to
confront the husband she'd desperately loved, but divorced and
left behind.
She's brought their three year old twin daughters back to Italy
to their
father, because after her mother's recent death, she realized
that if
anything happened to her, they would only have their father in
their
lives. Sadly, he's become a stranger to them. Payton's planning
a brief
stay before leaving the girls with their father and his fiance
and
returning to the US to take care of personal business. Yet once
back in
Marco's presence, the feelings she's kept inside resurface. As
they spend
time with their daughters, their awareness of each other
intensifies, and
it seems possible that they might have a future together if
Marco can only
let go of the pride that drove them apart.
MARCO'S PRIDE is an exquisitely and lyrically written romance
novel.
Beautiful and lovely just doesn't do the job to describe Ms.
Porter's
writing--MARCO'S PRIDE raises the level of category writing
several
notches. Porter's descriptions of Italy will make your mouth
water, and
her insights into the fashion industry will fascinate. Marco is
a total
alpha hero readers come to expect in a Presents, even a bit
emotionally
cruel. Yet by the novel's end, he's grown and gotten in
touch with his
feelings, and most importantly, when he comes to his senses,
there's a
groveling scene long-time Presents readers will appreciate and
applaud.
Furthermore, Porter doesn't turn the other woman into the
traditional evil
bitch, but humanizes her, making us understand her motivation,
thus
enabling us to forgive her. MARCO'S PRIDE is a bravura Presents
performance! |
