Katherine
Fleming has chosen her husband carefully. More than anything, he
is a friend whose company she enjoys, but most importantly, he
does not
inspire passion--or love. Then within three days of their
wedding, his
first wife returns from the dead, and to avoid scandal,
Katherine is
married off to Dominic Mallory, her fiancé's estranged brother
who
has his own reasons for wanting Katherine's as his wife--and the
one man who ignited her desire upon a momentary meeting.
Katherine's own
parents' disastrous marriage has her determined not to fall
under love's
spell. Marriage to her wounded hero and the delights of the
marriage
bed are more wonderful than Katherine ever imagined and the
unthinkable
happens...Katherine loves Dominic, but will he ever love her in
return, or
will their marriage only echo her parents' marital tragedy?
SCANDALOUS is simply a wonderful Regency historical, and
surprisingly, it
is Ms. Petersen's first novel. Well-written, sensual, and with
love scenes
that are passionate and hot, SCANDALOUS is very much an
absorbing
page-turner, not only because of a suspense element, but also
because the
reader comes to care very much for Katherine and Dominic and
want to see
when and if they declare their love for each other. Ms. Petersen
creates
two of the nastiest villains who had this reviewer hissing every
time they
entered a scene! Jenna Petersen is a welcomed addition to the
Regency
world, and this reviewer can not wait for her next release due
out August
of 2006. Highly recommended! |
