Nicole Montgomery decides to make changes in her life after she undergoes a traumatic personal experience.  She moves to Glen Knolls, Maryland, where she buys an old house and converts it into a B&B.  After sinking all of her time and savings into the place, she feels that this new start will give her peace of mind and a place to unwind, which is something she has never enjoyed in her previous life.  Then one day, unexpectedly, she has a guest that could cause all of her hard work to go down the drain.  It seems that everyone visiting her B&B knows who Brad Calverton is except her. And as fate would have it, his first stay is less than memorable.

Brad Calverton goes from B&B to B&B, rating the different establishments for a living.  But when he arrives in Glen Knolls, Maryland, at Nicole’s B&B, he’s seeking a place of refuge from a disastrous affair.  He’s also trying to find a place for the boys that he has taken under his wings.  Arriving in a bad mood, it doesn’t help when his reservation has been canceled and his room has a leak.  Trying to make light of the situation, Nicole tries her best to accommodate him.  But after finding out his identity upon his departure, she realizes how important it is for her business for him to come stay again when she is better prepared.

But of course the story couldn’t be that simple.  Ms. Monkou has Brad’s character appear to be not so pure and simple.  Brad has other ideas for Nicole’s B&B but never gets around to sharing his thoughts before she finds out his identity.  There’s another woman in the same town by the name of Audra who happens to want Brad for herself.  In the beginning they were working together to succeed in taking control of Nicole’s home.  In addition, she also has an agenda of her own to get Nicole to sell the B&B, an agenda that she keeps from Brad.  There’s nothing Audra won’t do to get what she wants.  Unfortunately for her, when Brad finds out the whole story, he stops her in her tracks.

Nicole and Brad both have a lot of issues to deal with; but Nicole has decided that she wants more than just a good review for the B&B. She wants Brad, and sets a plan into motion to get him because of a dare from her girlfriends.  While Brad is interested, he isn’t willing to be pulled into Nicole’s trap easily. But denying that he feels anything is also impossible.  When Nicole’s life is threatened, Brad finally realizes that he would go to hell and back to win Nicole’s trust and love.  These two take a long time to find their way to a life of love and happiness.
