BLOODED, I assure you that COLD BLOODED stands alone. But after
reading it, I cannot wait to go upstairs and catch up on my Lisa
Jackson stack!!
One woman encounters visions of murders as they happen.
Olivia Bechet can’t prove the murder has occurred, nor can she
tell the police where, but she knows she is correct, and she
knows the killer feels her presence. She turns to the only man
she believes might trust her, Detective Rick Bentz.
Rick solved the famous "Rosary Killer" case, and
this new murderer seems to be a carbon copy. As Rick spends more
time with Olivia, he finds himself desiring this woman after
vowing to never allow another woman in his life. When the killer
focuses on not only Olivia, but also Rick’s daughter, the hunt
for a madman becomes personal.
"The Chosen One" believes God is calling him to rid
the world of Satan’s whores. In precise rituals, he murders
these women and offers their souls to God. He knows that someone
is watching him, and he needs to find her before she stops his
crusade. His mission is not over until he has sacrificed the
biggest temptress of them all, Kristi Bentz.
Lisa Jackson has outdone herself. COLD BLOODED is
page-turning suspense at its best! With a creepy villain whose
identity keeps the reader guessing from the start, a heroine who
is an unwilling participant to her visions, but who knows she
has no choice, and a sexy detective whose heart needs some
tenderness!
Though the ending is left somewhat unresolved, Ms. Jackson
will be releasing its continuation in THE NIGHT BEFORE (March
2003). For me, this will be a very long year’s wait!
