Partners-In-Crime
is a company that specializes in security, or lack thereof. The
three employee/owners are expert at sniffing out trouble. This
time around it is Aimee Devlin, also known as Taz to her
friends, that gets a shot in the hot seat. She is trying to
ferret out the mole in a case of corporate espionage. Quickly,
this becomes a lot more than a case of competition.
We
meet Horace Gardner in the boardroom. He is the first suspect in
this investigation. The mild-mannered Chief Financial Officer is
much more than he appears to be. Aimee has him changing from
Horace to Race right before our eyes. Gone is the number
crunching dweeb and in his place is a super sexy, incredibly
studly CIA agent out to get his man, or woman, as the case may
be.
Nic
Sabre is a powerful man, but he has not always been. Once he was
just an abandoned child, left to defend himself in the mean
streets of Venezuela. Now, he is trying to break into the world
of weapons manufacturing. He seeks to provide the kind of life
he did not have for his daughter.
This is a noble cause for a not so noble man.
With
each page of I SPY, we travel into a world filled with dangerous
consequences and even more dangerous people. The task Aimee
accepts is one that is much more intriguing and more demanding
than she ever could have imagined. Constantly having to watch
her back, trying to keep her wits sharp and safeguarding her
heart, all take a toll on this magnificently charming lady. Her
strength of will and character, along with her strong integrity,
aid her in saving life as we know it.
This
is a powerful story told by a powerful story teller. Jacey Ford,
also known as Beverly Brandt, has a definite gift for the
suspenseful side of life. Her ability to delve into the psyche
of her characters is most impressive. Her forays into the
mindset of the children within her stories is intense and
incredibly real. When you become engrossed in one of her tales,
and you will, you find yourself so involved mentally that you
are anticipating every last word, breathing with the characters.
It is an extreme joy for me to pick up a Jacey Ford book, having
read two fantastic stories by this lady, I know that I am in for
a good time. I highly recommend I SPY to anyone looking for a
truly entertaining read. DANGEROUS CURVES (Raine's Story) is the
first story in the PARTNERS-IN-CRIME saga. Be sure not to miss
the third installment, Daphne's story in the Summer of 2005. You
will not be sorry! |
