This
charming anthology of Christmas romances will delight readers and
get them into the holiday spirit.
In
CHRISTMAS EVE, Millie Criswell brings together a beautiful,
but reserved spinster and a handsome drifter for an uplifting
read. Eve Barlow has
no use for Christmas, not since her parents were killed on
Christmas Day all those years ago.
So when a drifter comes to rent a room at her
boardinghouse, she shuts the door in his face, just as she shuts
the door to her home and her heart during the holidays.
However, Gabe Tyler doesn't care what her reasons are, he
needs a room because nothing is going to deter him from finding
his son. Neither
expected that this Christmas just might be the season for miracles
all around.
Ms.
Criswell's humor and heart tugging scenes help capture the
reader's attention as well as their heart.
Despite its short length, the well-written characters and
story help deliver a meaningful and romantic love story set around
Christmas.
In Mary McBride's SEASON
OF BOUNTY, Will Cade is a man on the run.
The former Civil War doctor is now a gambler.
So when the bounty hunter has caught up with him inside
Matty Favor's mercantile, he was sure he was a goner.
That is until Matty decided to save him, pretending he was
someone else. Will
accepts her offer of working in the store in exchange for his
reprieve, but his feelings for her begin to change even though it
won't do any good because she is a married woman.
Or is she? Matty's
ruse of being married to Charles Favor ended with his death, but
he was the only sure thing in life she could depend on, until Will
showed up. Now with
the season approaching, was she ready to step into a new life with
the man she loved?
Ms. McBride's story is
about two people trying to fit in a world they aren't sure of.
Will's running away from his past, and Matty's clinging to
hers. Heartwarming
longings thread through this story will make you sigh until the
ending.
Lastly,
Liz Ireland's COWBOY SCROOGE is a wonderful little story
with big results. Ivy
Ryan is a mail order bride who had already changed her mind by the
time she arrived in Otis, Texas.
She had hoped he would understand and send her on her way,
but what she gets is a dead husband-to-be.
Not only that, his passle of rag-a-muffin orphaned children
are thrust upon her despite her lack of money or home.
Well, once she finds out these children have an uncle, she
is determined to see that he takes them off her hands, but the
crusty bachelor cowboy has other plans.
She has to stay on at his ranch to help take care of them.
With nowhere else to go, Ivy agrees.
Soon, however, both realize that this holiday season may
just have the biggest gift for all of them.
Ms. Ireland's story is fun and will endear you to everyone
involved. The last
story is as good as the first and second and will have you closing
the book with a smile.
