Contemporary Romance

His job as a television expose journalist has Derek Diche traveling worldwide to investigate strange phenomena.  On a bit of a break from work, Derek has come to relax and unwind with his Aunt Mary in a small town, Paradise Beach.  What he is about to come across could be his story of the year, as well as being an unexpected chance for romance.

Officer Samantha “Sam” Bartlett is used to quiet beats, but when she receives a call about a giant sea monster, her life takes an abrupt turn.  Arriving on the beach, she discovers huge reptilian footprints that are estimated to have been made by a monster weighing a ton.  Hard to prove as a hoax, Sam is not sure how to handle the investigation, especially when Derek Diche is ready to bring in his camera crew and put their town all over the television.  Things only get worse when a four-foot wide cold, slimy egg washes up on the same beach.  Now Sam has moved from Officer to Egg sitter, and she is spending more time with Derek than she would like to.  Even worse, or better depending on how you look at things, Sam is becoming wildly attracted to this charmer, and she is sure she wants to get to know him better.

Gentle humor, a highly unusual storyline, and quirky characters lead the reader on an unusual twist for romance.  Scenes with Aunt Mary, the EPA agents that come into play, space aliens, and many more odd happenings lead the readers on a zany journey in which two people magically find true love despite the strange daily events.

Without a doubt this is a fine character driven romance.  You just can’t miss the mayor with his unusual sense of style or the minister with a very weird secondary job.  For a change of pace, grab a copy of NEXT STOP, PARADISE and enjoy the trip!
