If you're looking for a whirlwind ride through 48 intense hours with a sizzling couple, look no further than Linda Castillo's latest release from Silhouette Intimate Moments, MIDNIGHT RUN. This book has everything to make it a great romantic suspense - captivating characters with a history together, impending doom, and sizzling sexual chemistry.

Landis McAllister has picked up the pieces of her life after her brother's murder a year ago and has made a nice little life for herself. She's a successful prosecutor, has a nice cabin in the woods, and a cat to keep her warm at night. Not exactly exciting, but she'd had her fill of excitement. Until Jack LaCroix reappeared in her life, wet, muddy and covered in blood.

Jack had spent most of the last year in prison for a crime he didn't commit - the murder of Landis' brother, and his partner, Evan. Now he's an escaped convict, a former cop and convicted cop-killer, looking for help and trying to use this tiny window of freedom to clear his name and get the goods on the real killer. Unfortunately, he hadn't quite convinced Landis to help him when he passed out cold on her kitchen floor.

Landis and Jack not only have to flee from the bad guys, run from the police, and hide the truth from her other brother, Ian; but they have to get past the hurt and distrust of the past year in order to find a way back to the feelings they had for each other before Evan's death. The attraction is still there in spades, it's just a question of whether Landis can really believe Jack's version of the events leading to the murder, and whether Jack is willing to risk getting involved with Landis again just when he might get caught, thrown back into prison and killed.

When shots fly in Landis's direction, she becomes convinced of Jack's innocence just as he becomes convinced that he needs to stay as far away from her as possible in order to protect her life and her career. Their journey through these intense 48 hours is fraught with danger, not only from the bad guys, but from their shared memories and mutual attraction. The tension from both sides keeps you turning the pages quickly.

Linda Castillo has made a name for herself as the author of gripping, intense romantic suspense stories, both for Silhouette Intimate Moments and with her single-title releases from Berkley. She has aptly demonstrated in MIDNIGHT RUN why she is on the fast-track to stardom. Got a few hours open for uninterrupted suspense, intrigue, and romance? Pick up MIDNIGHT RUN and run with it.
