| Debut author Leslie Carroll
skyrocketed her way up to the top of my automatic purchase list.
MISS MATCH blends scintillating narrative, scorching love
scenes, a vivacious heroine, and teddy bear hero whose witty
banter adds just the right dose of humor to the well-rounded
romance.
Walker Hart finds himself running his
mother’s dating service, Six In The City, when she takes off
on another of her sudden vacations.
Though Walker is glad to help, he is a self-designated
bachelor who has no time or inclination towards wedded bliss.
After all, he has seen too many “happy” marriages go
down in flames. When
a new client enters the service, Walker has to fight his gut
instinct that says she is the only woman for him.
His job is to find her the perfect man, and setting her
up on these dates is quickly fueling his jealousy.
How can he take a chance on happily ever after when he
knows it doesn’t exist in the real world?
Kathryn Lamb loves her job as a drama
teacher, but things in the romance department are not as great.
She is thirty-five and is recovering from her engagement
to a “fiancé from hell”.
After listening to her nosy neighbor urge her to visit
her dating service, Kathryn finally relents and allows them to
find her dream man. They
guarantee each client five dates, but what if Kathryn has fallen
for the one man she cannot have, Walker?
Not only is Kathryn a riot with her “call
it as I see it” attitude, but her emotional sensitivity adds
depth to the story. Walker
is every woman’s fantasy – he knew when to bring flowers and
hot fudge sundaes or when a shoulder to cry on was the best
route to take. The
supporting cast of characters is just as brilliant; they never
outdid the main characters, and they were blended in perfectly.
With its fast pace, entertaining storyline and passionate
romance, I know MISS MATCH will gain quite a following.
I cannot wait for Ms. Carroll’s next book and truly
hope it will not be too long a wait! |
