Jael Reynolds is one tough homicide detective who is up for a promotion,
but, all of a sudden her small town of Dadeville, Florida has a crazy person on
the loose that is killing the drug dealers. As she starts the investigation,
help is given to her by way of FBI Agent Eric Grant. Having been divorced
for a while, letting work and her son be her only focus, changes when this
attractive man enters her world. Realizing it’s been too long since she's had a
personal life makes her body feel things that she knows as a Christian
woman, it shouldn't.
As she and Eric work together to find the murderer, several people become
suspects in the case. Then a cruel twist of fate occurs and Jael’s son and
babysitter are kidnapped and held hostage. Jael has problems functioning once
this occurs and Eric takes over as the lead investigator. What happens after
this keeps the reader on the edge of the seat, until the final sentence of the
book.
I know you’re probably wondering how a story packed with this much action
and suspense could be considered an inspirational but it is. Ms. Candis has
written Jael’s belief of God, in a way that demonstrates the battle one goes
through in having faith. Although Jael believes in God, she struggles to hold
on to that faith when the most precious person to her, could be lost forever.
In addition, it’s that faith that uncovers one of the ugliest hate crime
organizations, that walks the face of the earth. This story will inspire you
to believe that no matter how bad things seem, if you just believe God can
make things right.
