Val
Haines isn’t sure who he is or why he’s in New York City,
all he knows is he’s in jail, has a head that’s killing him,
and they are calling him Jeffrey Adams, which doesn’t
sound right. Unsure exactly what’s going on he gets his head
wound treated and finds a place to stay. As flashes of memory
return, all he can think is that he’s not sure he wants to be
the man he once was. Maybe now is his chance to truly start his
life over.
It’s
not long before he realizes he’s thought dead by all but the
people responsible for his "so called", death.
Now they want to make sure he’s really dead. They can’t have
him interfering with things and being alive now. As his memory
continues to return, Val remembers computers, stealing money
from his company’s pension fund, an unfaithful wife, and a man
who’s his mortal enemy. But most importantly he finds himself
remembering what is most important in life, love. Could the
woman he once threw away, be the answer to his prayers?
As
his struggle with memories and the men out to kill him come to a
head, Val has to make a decision between revenge or love?
With four hundred and eighteen million dollars on the
line will he make the right choice?
THE
LAZARUS TRAP is the story of one man’s struggle with the need
for revenge and how that need can affect the lives of those
around him. Mr. Bunn gives us a story with a hidden message of
love in the midst of a suspenseful scenario. I found the
story well written and the characters full of depth. The
suspense side was well done with plenty of action at
the end. I like the overall feel of this story and it’s
characters as well as the ending. The inspirational aspects are
not overly done and seem to blend in well with the story.
Although the amnesia plot may not appeal to some, I felt it was used
to allow Val to see who he had become and to understand where he
was headed. I would recommend this story if you like
action, a touch of romance, a great story, and a wonderful
message all mixed into one. |
