GONE TOO FAR, the long awaited story of Sam and Alyssa, is book six in the Team 16 series. This story follows The Unsung Hero and The Defiant Hero, (both reissued in June), Over the Edge, Out of Control and Into The Night. It's easy to say fans will be shocked and pleased with the newest addition to this series.

Mary Lou isn't answering Sam's calls, nor has she sent back the divorce papers, and it's been three weeks. That's two weeks too long. As Sam heads to Sarasota, Florida, he tries to prepare himself for what's to come. He's sure Mary Lou has changed her mind, but he can't stay in this marriage, it's over. Sam's not prepared for what he finds at Mary Lou's or where it all will lead.

When Jules's phone rings, Alyssa answers it. She's shocked to hear Sam's voice and even more shocked as to why he's calling. Her first thought is that Sam is responsible for the dead body, but Alyssa soon realizes he wouldn't do that. Sam needs help and Alyssa needs to get to Florida as soon as possible, if only Max will agree. What she encounters is more than she bargained for, both professionally and personally.

It's soon realized Haley, Sam's daughter, is missing. The search for Haley and the terrorist, along with any connections with Team 16, begins. Danger from all sides is never far behind as the action heats up. Can anyone come out of this untouched and alive?

GONE TOO FAR's flow is much smoother and more enjoyable in my opinion. The characters are all well developed and many returning characters from previous stories add to the charm. We finally get a good look at Sam and his past, which will shock many. We also get a few surprises along the way. I will warn you, if you are anything like me, you will be crying during a large part of this story. The WWII storyline is not done in the same way as the others were, and many will like the change. I found this part of the story to be lacking, and I would have liked to see it developed more.

Overall, Ms. Brockmann may have given us her best story so far. I do have to say I'm not all that happy with the ending, but hopefully the next story, Flash Point, will pull it all together. I think if you are a fan of Ms. Brockmann, then this is definitely worth the Hardcover price. If you are just finding Ms. Brockmann, your best bet will be to get The Unsung Hero at the reissue price.
