Navy SEAL, Lieutenant Junior Grade, John
Nilsson had not seen linguist expert Meg Moore in three years.
He was involved in a training operation when the call came from
Washington, DC demanding that he help negotiate a hostage
situation at the Kazbekistan Embassy.
It seems Meg was holding the Ambassador at gunpoint. The
woman John remembered would never do such a thing.
To his knowledge Meg Moore had no experience with weapons
and just the thought of her holding someone at gunpoint seemed
all wrong.
Held up in the men’s room of the
Kazbekistan Embassy with a gun aimed at
Osman Razeen and three of his staff members, Meg is
scared to death. Earlier
that evening, Meg was approached by one of the K-stani extremist
demanding that she deliver the Kazbekistan Ambassador to them or
her ten year old daughter and grandmother would be killed.
Knowing the United States policy of not negotiating with
terrorists, Meg knew she had to do as the terrorist asked. Inexperienced at this kind
of thing, once Meg secured the men’s room she then demanded
that the US Government contact Navy SEAL John Nilsson of SEAL
Team Sixteen as soon as possible.
Once again Suzanne Brockmann takes readers
into the world of danger, intrigue and romance via the SEAL Team
we met in THE UNSUNG HERO under the command of Lieutenant Tom
Paoletti. The
DEFIANT HERO gives readers a more in-depth look at SEAL Team
Sixteen and provides us a wonderful older woman, younger man
romance. As a bonus there is a sexually charged secondary
relationship between FBI sharp shooter Alyssa Locke and Ensign
Sam Starrett.
Meg Moore and John Nilsson are wonderful
characters, a
couple that walked away from a budding romantic relationship
only to realize that love lies dormant until fired by passion.
THE DEFIANT HERO is an enthralling page turner that ends
temporarily with Meg and John’s story.
However, with THE DEFIANT HERO Ms Brockmann has
positioned readers into a mode of pause until the next SEAL
assault. |
