Laurel
Cooper's only child is getting married. The forty-something
widow
is busy with the wedding preparations and fixing up the family
mansion for
her daughter's big day. Widowed for twenty years, Laurel has not
thought
of marrying again until international photojournalist Micah
Davidson turns
up to rent a room while in the area working on a photo essay on
historic
homes of Kentucky and Tennessee. Laurel and Micah are attracted
to each
other, and as the summer passes, find that the attraction
intensifies. All
is not idyllic however, as Laurel starts receiving threatening
messages and phone
calls and turns to Micah for help and comfort. As Micah joins
Laurel and
her daughter Debbie in their daily life, sharing meals and going
to church
with them, he searches for something deeper in his, and comes to
accept
Jesus as his Savior. He has the chance to take on a part-time
teaching
position at a local college and offer Laurel something
permanent, but
before they can think of this, Laurel is shocked when she
recognizes
someone in one of Micah's South American photographs. It's the
man her
husband had gone off on an adventure trip twenty years
previously! Her
husband had been declared dead after an accident, and the friend
was never
heard from again. Can her husband possibly be alive after all
these years?
Is the photograph connected to the threatening phone calls and
letters?
What will happen to Laurel's and Micah's new found love?
Irene Brand pens an exceptional inspirational romance with
LISTEN TO YOUR
HEART. Heart-warming and engaging with a touch of suspense,
LISTEN TO YOUR
HEART has a heroine in her forties and a hero who celebrates his
fiftieth
birthday. It was such a pleasure to read about two mature
characters who
know what's important in life and who find each other when they
least
expect it. Irene Brand knows how to touch readers' hearts!
