HOPE LIVES HERE
Janet Chester Bly
DHP, 2000
ISBN 9781572930605
Non fiction
Through a series of daily readings, the nature of hope is explored.
Using Bible verses, quotes from noted Christian figures, and illustrations, both personal and favorites from the pulpit, Ms. Bly
shows how hope is the backbone of Christianity. Her stories illuminate
that hope can be seen in instant healing, and in the process of healing,
or even in death. Hope can be found in the darkness, and in fact, evil
can be a tool of God's to drive the believer to hope. Without hope,
there is no love, no faith, no real life. Hope builds the bridge to
God's grace, and to all other virtues.
This is a lovely book providing a new slant on something that is often
taken for granted and perhaps little understood. Anyone who is in need
of hope should read it, or better yet, read it before you need the hope
so that it will be easier to find when the time comes.
