This novella is a wonderful look at the relationship between mothers and daughters. Maggie Downing rents a cottage named Seascape in Florida for a week and invites her daughters, Corinne and Sarah, to join her for what she hopes will be a week of relaxation and bonding.

Corinne and Sarah have not only a difficult time pulling themselves away from their hectic lives, but find it impossible to relax once they arrive. When things look futile, Maggie decides to buy return tickets for her girls and let them go home without revealing her tragic news. The daughters decide to finish out the week and are heartbroken to hear their mother is dying.

Maggie does a touching job of pulling her daughters closer together by revealing to them her deep relationship with God, and her anticipation of joining him.

This wonderfully sized book would be a wonderful beach read.
