Inspirational romance

Julia Rierdon, sister of Jake Rierdon (Refuge) has inherited her family's lighthouse and mansion in New England, and now intends to convert them into a country inn. On the way there, she flirts with a handsome biker. To her shock, the biker turns out to be the one man in the small community that is capable of doing the repairs she needs to make her dream come true. Though reluctant, she has no choice but to hire Trevor. As they spend time together, she finds herself more attracted to the handyman than she is to her fiancé, Miles. Trevor respects her beliefs and faith, while Miles pressures her to yield to worldly desires; but Miles is the more stable of the two, as Trevor is an admitted drifter. Which will she choose?

Concurrent to the main storyline is a subplot concerning Julia's new best friend, restaurateur, Tara, and her love for Ben and his son, Mike. They have maintained a steady friendship since his wife's death five years ago, but Tara wants more. She wants to be Ben's wife and give Mike the mother he needs. Also, she has a chance to make her mark in the world publishing a cookbook. Will her new dream come between them just as Ben realizes what she means to him?

Ms. Bergren has skillfully woven together two plots without detracting from either one. This series continues smoothly, and readers can be glad that the next one is already available.
