This is the first book I have read by Joseph Bentz and it certainly won't be my last. I felt like instead of a book, he had written me an invitation to walk with him through the lives of two very special people. Come with us as we introduce you to Paul and Laura.

It may have been love at first sight when their eyes met across a crowded room at a church function, but Paul and Laura were the type of couple who didn't "jump" into anything. After a lengthy courtship, they marry and both work hard to save money for a down payment on a house. With Laura in her late 30's, they also decide it's time to start trying to conceive.

Something that should have been so simple and so beautiful was not. After medications, testing, and surgery, they decide that they will begin the long, frustrating, and expensive process involved with adopting a child. This will not be an easy process for them either and just when we think that maybe it's not in God's plans for them to have a family, the unexpected will happen.

I admire Bentz for the amount of research that must have accompanied the writing of this book. He allowed me to feel each emotion that Laura and Paul felt, whether it was tears or anger. I think any couple struggling with infertility or thinking about starting a family, would enjoy this book.
