Inspirational Legal Drama

Kit Shannon, one of the few female lawyers in the country in the early 1900s, once again readers find her drawn into a case that's more than it appears. Kit finds herself with two cases going at the same time, both time-consuming and surprising.

Kit's first case involves a woman whose son is killed in a trolley accident. What Kit doesn't expect are the twists and turns this case will take and where it just may end.

Kit's second case is about a man accused of attempted murder. Kit finds that she believes the man, Mousy Malloy, when he says he didn't do it. Even if he can't remember the event. As the case comes to trial, Kit finds herself with more than just a murder case on her hands. Kit soon finds that the two cases may not be as unrelated as she thought. Will the truth come out in time? Will Kit be able to find justice for both her clients and prepare for her upcoming wedding or will things beyond her control bring an end to her?

A HIGHER JUSTICE is the second story in the Trials of Kit Shannon series and one of the best I've read in awhile. Mr. Bell once again pulls you into a story that at times did weigh me down, but once it got going was hard to put down. The stories are well written and the characters are very realistic. You get pulled into the court as though you are a part of the jury and can't wait to find out the ending. I know I can't wait for the next story, A Certain Truth, coming in summer of 2004. Kit is sure to be in more trouble but with the help of friends I'm sure she'll find the truth. I will warn you, while this is an Inspirational story it's one that anyone is sure to love.
