Sam
Tibbits grew up in the sixties and he loved his family’s
summer trips to
Piddock
Beach.
It was during their first trip that he meets Aubrey McCart. Over
the years Aubrey became Sam’s best friend and then his first
love, a person he thought would be in his life forever.
Both Aubrey and Sam stayed in touch. When Sam felt he'd
been called to the ministry, he wanted to talk with Aubrey, to
ask her to take this new journey with him. But, after driving
for more than two days, he finds that Aubrey and her family have
left with no forwarding address and no reason for their
fast departure. He is hurt, bewildered and lost with no
idea if he’ll ever see her again. But life must go on.
Years
later Sam is pastor of
Covenant
Heights
Church
and still single. He struggles with his doubts about his
life’s calling, as well as recent events in his life. He
returns to
Piddock
Beach
. He hopes to reconnect with the enthusiasm of his youth and
maybe to regain his passion for his ministry. Sam never
expects to find Aubrey making a trip back to the past as well.
Both find themselves confronting the past and struggling with
the present. Can they find peace? Can Sam find his way
back to his previous joy in his calling or was he mistaken in
where his life was meant to go?
In
REMEMBER ME, Ms. Bedford has
written a story that is both emotional and inspiring without
being overpowering. We are introduced to a man who while still
believing that God has a plan for him, wonders if he
misunderstood that plan years ago. Fans of Ms. Bedford’s
previous work are sure to love REMEMBER ME. Those new to her are
just as likely to find a new author to adore. |
