Keira Morgan
has had ten years to put Alec Dempsey, the love of her life, out
of her mind when she was left behind while he ran away from
Freedom, Arkansas without a backward glance.
Threatened by an ex-con, Keira is forced to utilize the
protective forces of the ATF, namely, special agent Alec
Dempsey. Keira
thought having a vengeful ex-con after her loved ones was bad
enough, but now that Alec is back in her life, she feels how he
still makes her pulse quicken and she realizes that she never
really got over him.
Alec Dempsey
never wanted to set foot in Freedom, Arkansas ever again, in
fact, the father away, the better!
Haunted by memories and shamed from the way he left Keira,
the last place Alec wants to be is back in Freedom.
Knowing that the tight-knit community would embrace him
while shunning a newcomer, Alec is the best—and only—choice
to tail the ex-con and find the hidden money and gold that was
stolen years ago. Alec
also knows that he’d be the best protection for Keira, and
maybe he might be able to mend some fences.
Getting past Keira’s defenses is harder then he thinks
and with threats and incidences mounting against her, will Alec
have the time to make the past right?
SLOW HANDS is a
taut suspense with a sensual romance that will keep you glued to
its pages. Keira is
a strong and feisty heroine, who doesn’t act flighty—which
always scores big points from me!
The relationship between the protagonists makes the story
really flow well. They
have a rocky past together and reading how they try to overcome
the mistrust and hurt really makes this story come together.
No quick fixes here!
Everything happens in a logical and believable order;
while most of us haven’t had an ex-con seeking revenge on us,
you can accept Keira’s actions to be true.
Escalating acts of violence against Keira brings a more
suspenseful edge to the story and has you gripping the pages
wondering when the villain will make his appearance.
SLOW HANDS with
its believable characters, sexy romance, tense moments and fast
paced flow is the perfect summer read.
I highly recommend it!
