Kathleen Seymour knew all
about running away. It
was what she did best. After
all, she had run away from her hometown at age eighteen to
escape the humiliation of her life. Whenever things got rocky
with her husband, she'd run.
Now, fighting with her daughter, who has suddenly
become a shoplifter, she wants to run all over again but
not this time. This
time she has to try to make things work.
Swallowing her fear and uncertainty, she accepts an
invitation to her father’s birthday party in her old
hometown, filled with trepidation about returning with her
daughter in tow. However,
she realizes their relationship will never grow if she
doesn’t make peace with her past.
On the trip, Joelle learns
all about how Kathleen grew up in poverty, feeling disgraced
in the community by having a father who was a jailbird and
brothers who were juvenile delinquents.
But, Kathleen soon finds her journey is just beginning
as she finds out more than she ever knew about her mom and
grandmother- revealing the truth that’s finally able to set
her free.
My favorite kind of book is
one where I immediately feel a part of the story.
From page one until the last, I have a connection, an
emotional investment, that keeps me reading.
Lynn Austin achieves that and more with her latest
release. The
three time Christy Award winning author successfully navigates
the choppy waters of dysfunctional families, showing how the
need for forgiveness and understanding is vital to every
relationship. Until
Kathleen learns about the past, she is unable to move forward
in her life- her struggle is one most deal with during their
lifetime. A
picture is worth a thousand words but until you find all the
pieces of the puzzle, that picture will never be complete.
ALL SHE EVER WANTED is all you’ll ever want in a good
book!
