| Fresh from her highly
successful romance THE PRINCE'S BRIDE, Victoria Alexander brings
us yet another frolicking, fun romance with snappy dialogue and
charming characters.
Princess Tatiana of Avalonia has returned
after a year to the man she left behind - her husband.
She needs his help, but he isn't nearly as thrilled to
see her, as she is to see him.
After all, it could be because he didn't know she was a
princess when he married her, or it could be because she left in
the middle of the night without saying goodbye.
At any rate, she's willing to do almost anything to get
him back, including bargaining with him to help her write her
family's history.
Matthew Weston doesn't believe her for a
minute. However,
he's willing to go along with the ruse to see what she's really
up to. Come to find
out, there are jewels at stake called the Heavens.
He's never forgotten the beauty he wed and loved, and
time spent with her makes him realize that she hasn't forgot
about him either. As
passions flare once again, they head into an extraordinary
adventure that could either bring them closer together or tear
them apart. After
all, Tatiana cannot be expected to give up her title for him,
and he could never live under the strictures of a royal house.
It would seem that after their adventure is over, their
time will come to an end as husband and wife.
Or will it?
Fresh and entertaining, HER HIGHNESS, MY
WIFE showcases Ms. Alexander's talent for witty repartee between
the hero and heroine. I
loved seeing Matthew and Tatiana banter back and forth because
it keeps up the tension and the pace of the story.
You can almost see the smoke coming out of Matthew's ears
at times when in Tatiana's presence.
Tatiana is a cool and collected heroine, knowing exactly
what she wants and how to get it.
Matthew is a tougher cookie, trying to be noble in
instances when his heart isn't in it.
You gotta love him anyway because it's all for Tatiana.
The pace is face and delightful, and the plot isn't
boring or stale. In
fact, if you liked her earlier works such as THE HUSBAND LIST or
THE WEDDING BARGAIN, you're sure to love HER HIGHNESS, MY WIFE.
For those who haven't yet read Ms. Alexander, I recommend
this one to start. You
can always go back and find the backlist.
