Historical Romance

When the future Duke of Roxborough, Marquess Thomas Effington, takes on the role of protector to three sisters, he is determined to marry them off as quickly as possible. Of the three, it is Lady Marianne that has him most perplexed. She's determined not to marry, but instead wants to be able to support her future. So, she begins to write the Adventures of a Country Miss in London, outlining her escapades and her secret growing desire for her protector. What then is she supposed to do when Thomas begins his own pursuit of her?

Thomas is constantly astounded by the attractive and forward oldest sister. Try as he might, he finds himself drawn to her spirit and tenacity. When he discovers her secret, he finds himself at unexpected odds over what to do. But his plan backfires and now he must convince her that the only lesson left to learn is that of love.

Alexander's witty and lively romance will have you eagerly reading right through the book. The adventures of Lady Marianne, who is determined to keep her independence, writes her own tale of romance and jealousy that begins to turn into a real-life drama. The characters are alive with personality and the setting is portrayed wonderfully. The story flowed easily and it didn't get mired down in useless narrative, but kept the reader entertained with wonderful banter between the hero and heroine. The passion is heated, sexy and fun to read. THE MARRIAGE LESSON is a great way to spend the afternoon.
