Inspirational Romance

Once again, readers are swept into the hectic lives of Mercy Richmond and Lukas Bower. After fire destroys their hospital, Lukas takes a temporary job that forces him to live three hours away, and puts a strain on their budding relationship. His life is miserable. Not only does he miss Mercy and his other friends back home, but the people around him are hostile and the patients difficult. He even finds himself treating an angry motorcycle gang and dealing with a possible baby theft ring.

Back home, Mercy is not having an easy time either. She confronts the health issues involved with weight on the opposite ends of the spectrum, from overweight Clarence from the past two novels to a girl dealing with rape by becoming anorexic. Another patient's husband is after her with revenge in mind when his wife gets tired of being abused and leaves him at Mercy's encouragement. On top of all that, Mercy is not sleeping well, and she is having to reconcile her divorce with her new Christian faith. Should she go back to her ex husband since he is trying to reform?

All of these plotlines weave together to form a fast moving compelling story that will attract fans of television medical dramas. Often, SILENT PLEDGE almost cuts too close to the heart.
