The third story in the James P. Dandy
mystery series reunites Jim Dandy and his girlfriend, Dodee
Swisher, who he met in the first book, BLOODY BONSAI where they
found a killer who used Bonsai trees as a weapon to kill.
Their next Elderhostel outing took them to Maryland where
they learned new recipes with some of the finest area cooks,
well cooks that managed to survive a madman anyway.
Now Jim and Dodee are heading off on a new journey again.
Promising himself that this Elderhostel
trip will not result in more dead bodies, Jim Dandy finds
himself sadly mistaken. His
recent outing with Dodee Swisher takes them to Santee Dam Lakes
in South Carolina, where their peaceful canoeing journey leads
them to another puzzling murder.
When they first arrive at their destination, he is not
worried, boating accidents happen quite often.
However, when they personally find the body of a Natural
Resources agent underneath a canoe, Jim and Dodee stumble on a
chilling new case.
Plenty of quirky suspects, missing explosives,
and a dam on the brink of destruction keep Jim and Dodee on the
run to find a killer. Plenty
of humor, twists and the fast pace draw the reader into the
character driven mystery. The
addition of the Elderhostel guide’s “getting to know you”
questions provides the reader with amusing anecdotes.
Jim the Jackrabbit and Dodee the Dolphin are off on
another charming mystery that is sure to please fans and
newcomers to Mr. Abresch’s books.
