Historical Romance- Multicultural

For Dido her life changed one night in November 1667, when she was attacked by some men as she was returning to the plantation where she lived. Fate stepped in when she was saved by a stranger that scared the attackers away. Little did she know at the time that El Negro as he was known would save her life more than once?

Upon returning safely back to the plantation she was faced with more trouble as the Missus of the house demanded that she and all the other women give her all of their savings. These women had worked very hard to save the money that the lady of the house thought she was entitled to. To make matters worst they soon found out that some of them would also be sold. Taking her life into her own hands Dido decides that it's time for her to leave to find the freedom that she believed was her due.

Her adventurous life begins when she disguises herself as a boy and signs on to become a pirate on the seas. Little did she know but her captain would be the one and only El Negro. Believing that she fooled everyone she soon finds out that he not only knew who she was but wanted to protect her from harm. Their life together on the sea is anything but smooth and afterwards Dido lands herself in another fine mess, this time as she tries to buy the freedom of her family. How many times can the same man save her life?

Ms. O'Neal's portrait of love on the seas during slavery times has a lot of action packed between the pages. Dido plans for freedom were suddenly changed and it all began because she felt she had been cheated. That strong urge led her to meet the man that not only helped her get free, but captured her heart as well. This is truly a romantic story of following one's mind and heart.
