THE CRITIC Dyanne Davis Parker Publishing ISBN: 978-1-60043-032-9 June 2008 Romance- Multicultural Toreas Rose has fallen in love with a man that she has only seen on television. Yet for her there is definitely something about this man that has her captivated. It might be his eyes, his smile, or his body, but Toreas knew it wasnʼt what he was talking about. As an aspiring romance writer, the man from the screen was trashing romance writers of the world. As far as she was concerned he should be shot! To stop this man and his nonsense she and her club of writers went on his show to challenge his views of romance writers and readers. To Toreasʼs surprise the outcome was nothing like she thought it would be. For her it was the beginning of a headache that just wouldnʼt stop!
Jared Stone has become a very disgruntled man when it concerns romance and love. Believing that he was dumped by his ex-girlfriend for a man modeling for the cover of a romance book, he is out to make anyone associated with the genre pay. When he is attacked by Toreas he sees this as an opportunity to stick it to a certain writer for the ills of the business in general. He never expected to actually develop feelings for this crazy woman who is just average looking and determined to get him to change his views. Jared sees both as a challenge and has a few tricks up his sleeve to prove his point to Toreas and her fellow writers.
As Ms. Davisʼs story develops youʼll find out that Toreas has actually never written a book so she hasnʼt been published. Nor has she really ever experienced love. Itʼs these truths that provide Jared with what he needs to get her to open up to him. Along the way they share many things about themselves that prove to draw them closer to each other. The story is an enjoyable one with entertaining situations. Reviewed by Lora McDonald Rating 3
