Have you been reading Ms. Black’s Wicked Lovers books, WICKED TIES, DECADENT and now, the third installment, DELICIOUS?  If not, I suggest you start now and pick up the earlier books and get a movin’!  Luc and Alyssa had an extremely hot encounter three months ago, and she wants him back in her bed.  Luc has not had the best luck in relationships. All he wants is a nice woman to spend his life with, who will understand his inability to have children and who is open to other options like adoption.  In the past, he used his relationship with his cousin Deke and his girlfriend Kimber as a type of surrogate, hoping to be a parent through their love, but some things are not meant to be and that ménage has ended.

The last thing Luc needs is to develop feelings for the owner of the local strip joint and probable prostitute Alyssa.  They had mind blowing sex, but she isn’t mommy material. He has promised to help Alyssa with the opening of her new restaurant, to be the guest chef, but that’s it, he has his nice and normal girlfriend in Texas waiting for him.

Alyssa has a hard time with feelings and emotions.  Life has thrown her curveball after curveball, and she’s always landed on her feet but the toll that has taken is huge.  That is why she is so surprised she reacts so strongly to Luc.  She wants another chance with him and is willing to risk her heart to start something.

Luc and Alyssa are really interesting characters.  For most of the book, Luc is an inconsiderate imbecile who really needs his comeuppance – and he does get it.  If you like a great grovel scene, Luc is the top candidate for the year so far.  He truly acts like an idiot and does not realize until it is almost too late what a fool he has been.  Granted, there are believable reasons why he acts the way he does, but as a reader, you are still going to want to smack him upside the head.  Alyssa is a combination of tough as nails and vulnerable heroine.  She also comes with a heart wrenching back-ground and as DELICIOUS unfolds, it is absorbing to watch.

While DELICIOUS is a stand-alone book, I strongly suggest reading at least DECADENT before reading this one.  While you can make it without the characters of WICKED TIES, I think your reading experience will be enhanced by knowing Luc and Alyssa’s backstory.  I enjoyed the newest installment of this series, though perhaps not quite as much as its predecessors.  Some situations that the characters find themselves in seem a bit “easy” and fit neatly into place.  Have fun and enjoy, just make sure you have something to cool yourself down with, for this one is a scorcher!
