Tessa Dare reveals Sophia Hathaway’s fate in her latest novel, SURRENDER OF A SIREN.  First appearing in GODDESS OF THE HUNT, Sophia Hathaway’s penchant for fantasy and desire for love lead her to take a huge risk.  Seeking passage to Tortola, Sophia assumes an alternate identity and approaches Benedict “Gray” Grayson and begs him to allow her to book passage on his ship.  Gray agrees, despite his brother’s concerns, and soon Sophia is the lone passenger aboard the Aphrodite.  The journey is an eventful one, allowing Sophia to experience the world in a way she never has before, whether it is fishing or socializing with “real” people.  Quickly befriending most of the crew, Sophia uses her artistic talent to entertain everyone aboard ship throughout the entire the voyage. The trip also brings Gray and Sophia close together, but Sophia’s secrets and Gray’s goals may prevent the couple from finding long-term happiness.

SURRENDER OF A SIREN is unexpectedly entertaining, full of romance and humor.  Sophia is an unusual character, with unexpected depth and Gray’s familial background reveals both character flaws and the reality of inter-race relationships during the 1800s.  Piracy and piracy laws are also at the forefront of SURRENDER TO A SIREN, stimulating the imagination.   The passion between the two protagonists is H-O-T, and the unique characteristics of each individual keep the reader hoping for a happy outcome.  Overall, SURRENDER OF A SIREN is a delightful follow-up to Ms. Dare’s previous novel, and I can’t wait to read more by this creative and fresh voice!
