LIP SERVICE Susan Mallery HQN ISBN:  978-0-373-77372-5 June 2009 Contemporary Romance In this second novel in the Titan sisters trilogy readers meet Skye Titan, the sister who has worked the hardest to please her father Jed.  Widowed, she lives with her daughter Erin in the huge mansion that marks his empire.  She runs a non-profit foundation to feed hungry children.  Once more Jed has decided on a hand-picked husband.  What he doesn’t realize is that Mitch Cassidy has returned home to his ranch next door. While he was off serving as a Navy SEAL, Mitch’s ranch managers have begun raising organically fed beef and free range chickens.  While he has loved the couple who have kept his ranch intact all these years, he is struggling with the changes.  He must come to terms with his prosthesis and with the realization that Sky Titan still holds a part of his heart.  She is the reason he left nine years before. These two are explosive in their relationship.  They fight and argue and insult each other while experiencing wild passion.  Yum!  Through it all is Jed and his conniving plans to marry off Skye.  Also looming are the damaging and escalating threats from Jed’s illegitimate son.  He targets all three sisters. The threats are unresolved but this is a very satisfying love story about two endearing characters.  I wanted to strangle Jed mid-way through the book and found him even more annoying in this second novel of the series.  Readers can look forward to several more novels about the Titans and their friends.  I absolutely love sitting down with a Mallery novel and reading away a Spring afternoon.  Don’t pass up this great series!
