JANUARY GIRL Thandywaye Malone has never been handed anything in life. As a youth she defied her father's wishes for her life and fled her parents' home at a young age. She began a new life with the one man that demanded nothing from her but gave her everything he had to offer. With a man to care for her and a beautiful daughter to love her has it made, until one night changes her life forever, forcing her to choose between her man and her child? As time passes on Thandy has learned a lot and finds herself in the company of another man that gives her more material things than she ever thought possible. Material things are good but what she wants and needs from him is his love. Something Jack isn't able to give freely because he's a married man. Thandy understands and is willing to accept her position in his life, but she is over the edge when she realizes that she has been sharing him with more than his wife. Without giving it a second thought she walks away from this life and creates a new one for herself and her daughter. Is life fair? Maybe, maybe not, but Thandy will find out for sure on her own terms. You can't really tell from the title what the story is going to be about, but let me tell you that this one is definitely a must read! Ms. Taylor has written a tale of love, betrayal, and jealousy between characters that are so interesting you'll find yourself cheering and crying for them as the story emerges. It's been a long time since I read a truly good love story but this is definitely one that I could read again. Reviewed by Lora McDonald
